Useful access around retained buildings
Occupied areas considered
Routes and entrances are planned around parts still in daily use.
Several trades supported
Platforms can serve repairs, roofs, windows and exterior finishes.
Workfaces followed
Agreed adaptations keep access aligned with each refurbishment stage.
Reach the building without ignoring what remains
Renovation starts with an existing building, and that brings limits a blank site does not have. Entrances may need to remain open, parts of the property may stay occupied and retained surfaces cannot simply be treated as spare support space. We plan renovation scaffolding around the building fabric and the work taking place on it. Platforms can support repairs, facade work, roofing, windows and external finishes across several levels. We also consider how trades will reach each area and where materials can move without taking over routes still needed by occupants or the wider site.

Adapted as each workface moves on
Refurbishment rarely happens across every elevation at once. One section may be stripped while another is being repaired or finished. We coordinate platform positions with the trades and materials required at each stage, then plan adaptations as the active workface changes. Existing entrances, public interfaces and occupied areas remain part of that discussion throughout the programme. When a section is complete, scaffold changes or dismantling can be arranged in step with the next phase, avoiding platforms being left in the wrong place while the job moves around them.
Frequently asked questions
Can renovation scaffolding work around occupied areas?
Yes, where the site layout allows suitable separation and access. We need to know which entrances, routes and parts of the building must remain in use before planning begins.
Can platform levels be changed during refurbishment?
Planned changes can be made as different workfaces become active. Alterations must be controlled and coordinated with the trades before the affected scaffold returns to use.
What details help you plan around an existing building?
We need elevations, access points, retained features and the sequence of work. Occupied areas, material routes and any sensitive surfaces should also be identified early.
